Quarry Health & Safety Management System (QHSMS)

The document below entitled 'Guide to developing the System' has been produced to provide an initial 'route map' to the other material. This may be a good place to start.

The QHSMS is intended as a systematic approach to effective health and safety management. The central document is the 'Specification for the QHSMS' with appendices, but other useful guidance and model procedures have been and will be added from time to time. A quarrying company may adopt the complete specification or may use the appendices and other guidance as 'stand-alone' aids. Particular attention is drawn to Appendix 3 (and the single quarry small business version) for a set of useful checklists for the industry based upon parts of the Quarries Regulations and other sources.
