Quote by Steve Bassett and Steve Hyde..on being a facilitator

"As well as increasing safety  awareness on site the scheme has raised the profile of Safety Reps to a position of respect – we are much more involved than we used to be in all areas of decision making.  The scheme continues to be a great talking point”
S. Bassett – WBBM Safety Rep.

"It has certainly opened a few people’s eyes to safety issues on site”
 S. Hyde – WBBM Safety Rep

Quote by Jill Moores..on being a facilitator

"It's been a very interesting project. Very different from the usual top-down safety initiatives"

Quote by Jason Young..on being a facilitator

"This study has given me the chance to get directly involved in a large scale project which has the potential to make large improvements both to the safety on this site and hopefully to other sites, both in WBB Minerals and elsewhere.

It has made the steering team and site in general think carefully about behaviours and safety on site and hopefully allow us to move safety on site forward."
Quote by Jenny Smith..on being a facilitator

"I will feel very satisfied and rewarded once people see things are changing because of this"

Anam Parand

Anam Parand was the chief facilitator guiding implementation at the first four sites.

Anam is an Associate Research Fellow at Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter in Cornwall, and the author of the BSQ process and this website.

Quote by Anam Parand..on being a facilitator

"Managing people is not my usual role. However, I enjoyed pushing forward a project that I really believed in, one that would benefit the whole site if applied properly. In this position I found that little management is required when the steering team are genuinely committed to the programme and take responsibility for its progress".
